Operators

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics Rainbow Six Tactics Operators

Fifteen Siege icons, four per mission, one commander in the chair.

Operators Hub

Operators are the characters you deploy. Six is the character you play. Mixing those up is the fastest way to misread Rainbow Six Tactics. This hub is the operator half of that sentence. For the commander, use Paul Bishop / Six. For names and gadgets, use the roster and confirmed operators.

Ubisoft Paris is bringing 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege into a turn-based campaign. Community developer Emilie Cerkiewicz told press they are among Siege’s most iconic, and the gamescom pre-brief showed Ash, Zofia, Nøkk, Glaz, Doc, Montagne, Sledge, Finka, and Twitch. The last six are still behind the door. This wiki will not invent them.

Why the roster is shaped this way

A Siege player thinks in 5v5. Tactics thinks in four jobs: intel, entry, space, closer. That is why the squad building guide exists, and why a “best operator” without a team is a trailer comment, not a plan. The tier list hub ranks pre-launch reads. This hub explains who the people are.

Each operator keeps a signature kit and gets a skill tree. That means Ash is still a hard-breach personality, but two campaigns can grow her differently through HQ training. It also means injuries and, if it ships, permadeath make the bench real. Fifteen names is not cosmetics. It is insurance.

How to use these pages

  1. Roster — the 15-slot board, confirmed vs unconfirmed, and how gadgets translate to a commander camera.
  2. Confirmed operators — the nine shown names with role notes and Breach pairings.
  3. Paul Bishop / Six — the Vegas protagonist in the command chair, the Year 10–11 gap, and the Keres conspiracy hook.

Then leave this category. Operators without a plan are a poster. Take them to how to Breach, the squad planner, and the roles page.

What “iconic” is doing in the marketing

Ubisoft could have built original operators. They did not. They imported Siege’s most readable silhouettes so a trailer can say “Rainbow is back” in one frame of a hammer and a shield. That is good for onboarding and risky for balance: everyone already has opinions. This wiki’s job is to translate those opinions into tactics language. Sledge is not an entry fragger. He is a wall you scheduled. Montagne is not “cringe.” He is a turn you buy with a piece of ballistic glass.

If your favorite operator is missing from the nine, wait. Fan guesses (Smoke, Hibana, Dokkaebi) appeared in coverage as speculation, not as a list. We will add a tenth name when Ubisoft shows a tenth name.

Story overlap

Operators are not silent chess pieces. The campaign sits between Siege Year 10 and Year 11, with Rainbow in collapse and Bishop pulling former operators back. That is why the roster is “former” as much as it is “available.” Read the Gamescom recap for the briefing quotes, then come back here when a cinematic names someone new.

Until launch, treat this hub as a living board: nine pinned, six blank, four deployed, one commander. That sentence is the game.
