How this wiki dates a fact

Primary: Ubisoft, the Rainbow 6 channel, Steam news, Xbox Wire, PlayStation Blog. Secondary: IGN, GameSpot, Game Informer interviews. Tertiary: identification of operators in a trailer. We do not cite anonymous leaks as roster fact.

If two outlets disagree (47 maps vs “dozens” vs 45+ locations), the article will say they disagree. Guides will use the conservative phrasing. That is why mission types says “dozens” in the body and cites IGN’s 47 in a clause.

What changed in August 2026

• 25 August 2026: Opening Night Live world premiere. Official trailer on the Rainbow 6 channel. Wishlist pages live on Steam (app 3621390), Ubisoft Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.
• Same window: Press briefings with Martial Potron (game director), Elie Benhamou (creative director), and Emilie Cerkiewicz (community). Nine operators shown. Bishop confirmed as Six. Year 10–11 placement confirmed.
• 27 August 2026: Steam community blog: a Closed Test is planned because the team wants player feedback before 2027.
• 28 August 2026: IGN publishes a studio interview on permadeath and how Siege kits move into a tactics camera.

What has not happened

• No full 15-operator list.
• No complete PC system requirements beyond “Windows 11” on Steam.
• No edition comparison (standard vs any deluxe).
• No exact month in 2027.
• No Closed Test start date, duration, NDA, or platform lock — only a registration URL.

When those land, they get a dated paragraph here and a link from getting started and platforms. They do not get invented in a guide FAQ.
