Tier List Hub

A tier list for an unreleased tactics game is a briefing, not a sport. Rainbow Six Tactics has no ranked ladder, no pick/ban, and no patch. What it has is a gamescom trailer, a press brief, and nine public operators. This hub is honest about that. Use it to think in jobs. Do not use it to flame someone for taking Zofia.

Three pages live here:

  • Operator tier list — the nine shown names, ranked by how complete their job looks on footage.
  • Squad compositions — four-person templates that actually cover intel, entry, space, and closer.
  • Roles — the job dictionary the other two pages assume.

If you want biographies, leave this hub and open confirmed operators. If you want to press buttons, open the squad planner.

How these lists were built

Criteria, in order:

  1. Can the operator do a job the campaign already advertised (Breach, drone, shield, heal, long shot)?
  2. Does that job still exist after the Breach, in the turn-based layer?
  3. How replaceable are they among the nine? Unique jobs rank up. Duplicate jobs rank down.
  4. How badly does a permadeath or injury rule, as discussed by IGN with the directors, punish losing them?

Footage sources: the official Rainbow 6 trailer, IGN’s reveal upload, Xbox Wire screenshots, and the gamescom pre-brief names. No Closed Test hours. When those hours exist, the Updates hub will date-stamp a rewrite.

What a good Tactics “tier” even means

In Siege, S-tier means a gun or a gadget that wins rounds in the current patch. In Tactics, S-tier should mean “I would be annoyed to lose this chair for three missions.” That is a campaign metric. Montagne might be boring and still S-tier. Nøkk might be stylish and still situational. The roles page exists so we do not pretend those two sentences contradict.

Also: six operators are missing. Any list that ranks “the roster” today is ranking 60% of it. The roster keeps blanks on purpose.

How to argue with this wiki

Bring a job, a map type, and a piece of footage. “Ash is overrated” is not an argument. “Ash is overrated on hostage maps because her default plan deletes walls” is an argument, and it already lives on mission types. We will update rows when Ubisoft shows a tenth operator or a numbers overlay (action points, gadget charges, revive rules).

Until then, read the three child pages in this order: roles, operators, squads. Then go practice the plan on how to Breach, not in a comment box.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is this a live competitive tier list?

No. Rainbow Six Tactics is a single-player campaign scheduled for 2027. These lists are pre-launch briefing notes.

Why are only nine operators ranked?

Because only nine have been shown. Ranking hidden operators would be fiction.

Will the list change after the Closed Test?

Yes. Follow Closed Test and this hub will gain a dated revision.
